Tillandsia Caput Medusae, also known as Medusa's Head, is an air plant known for its unique, snake-like leaves that resemble the hair of the mythological figure. It's a low-maintenance beauty, perfect for adding a touch of the tropics to any space. Approx. 4” tall
Care Instructions:
Watering:
Misting: Mist your Tillandsia Caput Medusae thoroughly twice a week with water (do not use reverse osmosis or softened).
Soaking: Fully submerge the plant in water for 30-60 minutes twice a month. After soaking, shake off excess water and set upside down to dry completely (within 3-4 hours).
Indoor Light: Thrives in bright, direct sunlight. Indoors, position them in your sunniest window for optimal growth and vibrant colors.
Temperature: Thrives in warm temperatures between 50-90°F (10-32°C).
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity.
Fertilizing: While optional, fertilizing can promote growth and blooms. There are many air plant fertilizers available, but we highly recommend Tilly Boost, a specifically formulated product that can be found on our website here
Blooming and Pups:
Tillandsia Caput Medusae is a monocarpic bloomer, meaning it blooms once in its lifetime. After blooming, the mother plant will begin producing "pups" – small, new Medusa plants that grow from the base. You can choose to leave the pups attached to the mother plant for a fuller look, or carefully separate them once they reach a mature size to start new Tillandsia Caput Medusae colonies.
